Reviews: Back to Index

The albums have been graded on the most common grading system used in Finnish schools. Where 4 is the worst, and 10 is the best. The final score for the album is most of the times the average for all of the tracks, though it can also change if the reviewer wishes so. The Super Eurobeat Non-Stop albums will be reviewed as full collections, and the individual songs won't be reviewed, unless they are completely new. Though Euromach and JGTC albums for example will have complete song by song reviews.
The grading system simply goes as ie. 4- (3,75), 4 (4), 4+ (4,25) and 4½ (4,5) and the next one again would be 5-. A simple system we have over here in Finland.

1.Kiki & Kika Feat. Goofy DJ - My Name Is Goofy (SCP)
What a marvellous start for an album. Kiki & Kika are always a fun-filled pack and they don't let you down this time either. My Name Is Goofy is a brilliant feel-good song that blows you away.
Rating : 10-

2.Nick Mansell - Stop Lookin' Back (SCP)
After a brilliant opening the album takes a bit of downhill as Nick Mansell tries his best to get to level of the other magnificent SCP artists. SCP as a label generally produces only great material, but this track doesn't really manage to impress me that much. Not bad, but still not very memorable either.
Rating : 8-

3.Fastway - Rocket Man (SCP)
And again a steep uphill for the album. Fastway is a strong performer and his songs are practically all high-quality. Rocket Man isn't his best track but definitely a strong performance and a great song over all.
Rating : 9+

4.Babby One - U.S.A. (HI-NRG Attack)
Ah and into the wonderful world of HI-NRG Attack, once again the sun is shining for the fans of this label. A great energy packed song with an awesome chorus and excellent sounds thorough the song.
Rating : 9

5.Tam Arrow - One Shot Girl (HI-NRG Attack)
More of HI-NRG Attack! Somebody strain me, these songs are dangerously addictive. I am an addict for songs just like these, excellent melody and great vocals. For some reason male vocals work really well on HI-NRG Attack and SCP songs but otherwise I just don't really care for them. Awesome, just awesome.
Rating : 9+

6.Black Eva - Turn The Beat Around (HI-NRG Attack)
What I said for the previous 2 songs apply here as well (well except that here is a female vocalist for a change). An awesome, fun packed song that will definitely get you moving.
Rating : 9

7.Claudia Vip - White Is For You Black Is For Me (HI-NRG Attack)
Oh and here we have a definite hit. From the first seconds this song blasts into action I was totally overwhelmed, how can somebody actually produce a song this good? Really _really_ awesome. Incredible backgrounds combined with Claudia Vip's great vocals make this song one of my very favorite eurobeat songs of all time. I'd give the song a 10+++, but I'll strain myself for now.
Rating : 10

8.Sarah - Shoobie Doobie (Boom Boom Beat)
Ah the BBB songs always lighten up my life. It's so uncommon to bump into this labels artists and as they always seem to be as awesome it's a shame really. Sarah throws in a display that reminds me a bit of Lolita's awesome style, happy track with a simple but effective melody.
Rating : 9-

9.Lucya - Give You My Love (SCP)
After an awesome straight of incredibly catchy and great songs the album takes a bit of a down, Lucya's song is a pretty typical happy eurobeat song that works effectively, if it just wasn't like so many others.
Rating : 8+

10.Louise - I Need Somebody To Love (HI-NRG Attack)
Well that downhill didn't last for long, again the album explodes into fire as HI-NRG Attack takes control. A quick song that really reminds me of Nikita Jr.'s classic song Dancing In The Jungle for some reason. Really catchy.
Rating : 9-

11.Giorgia Barrows - Queen Of The Night (HI-NRG Attack)
Oh wow, at this point of the album I was already totally amazed about the level of the compilation and as it seems to go on for longer I can do nothing else but feel satisfied with Avex. A great track with a nice short intro (well as much as there's an intro in a non-stop album). Also what I really love about this song is the c-part after the the chorus.

12.Elisa - Tell Me The Reason Why (Vibration)
I generally like Vibration's style and I was expecting a good song now as well, and that's what they gave me, only it wasn't as good as I expected. This song slows down a bit, but it's still fast like euromachs in general, a song that works really well on other areas but the vocals are pretty bad unfortuantely.
Rating :  8

13.Maria Short - Light My Fire (Vibration)
Oh wow, this is quite interesting. Vibration did it again, a song that works well but the vocals suck ass. Maria Short is not a very good singer if you ask me, her voice sounds like many Finnish singers do (which is very monotonic and lame). The worst song on the album.

14.Lou Lou Marina - Take Me Up And Higher (HI-NRG Attack)
Perhaps it's for the better that HI-NRG Attack takes over again, we're treated with a simple song that isn't as great as some of the previous attack tracks but works much better than either of the previous Vibration performances. A lovely chorus by the way.

15.Mara Nell - Renegado (HI-NRG Attack)
What I've been wondering for a while is that is there a relation between Mara Nell and Kara Mell? Perhaps there is, there are similarities at least. A good song again but the lyrics sound really odd for some reason? Dunno what's the thing here though.

16.Norma Sheffield - Little Love (A-Beat C)
Well if you ask me, I think that A-Beat C should keep their hands off of Euromachs. Generally they only produced a couple of good songs for the whole series, and these songs feel a bit out of place on these albums. Norma Sheffield's song sounds good, but it just doesn't really blend into the crowd.
Rating : 8+

17.Valentina - The Color Of My Love (A-Beat C)
A huge improvement from the previous A-Beat C song, this is one of the more succesfull euromach songs the label produced. Really energetic and fast, the way euromach should be. Also an impressive job with the vocals by the good old Valentina.
Rating : 9

18.Leila - Happy Happy (Delta)
Happy is really the key word for euromachs, so this song might very easily be a theme song for the whole series. Also a really effective song that only should have had a better remastering, the sounds make the vocals sound really muffled (well I hope it wasn't intentional, because that would make Delta lose some credibility points in my eyes).
Rating :

19.Susan Bell - One Night To Remember (A-Beat C)
This track feels like a rip-off of the Go Go Girls' classic Do You Wanna Dance, I always start thinking about the song as there are very similar sounds and the melody is pretty much alike as well, oh well we're dealing with A-Beat C here.
Rating : 9-

20.Ace Warrior - Fame (A-Beat C)
A male vocalist from A-Beat C, fortunately they picked Ace Warrior for this one, the best option probably, and a great song as well. I've got fame!  Love the lyrics and the chorus is fun to sing to. Really surprising how A-Beat C produced a song that actually doesn't sound _all_ that much like A-Beat C.
Rating : 9-

21.Ace - Don't Go (SCP)
Whee back to the better labels. A great vocalist, a great song, great sounds. Great over all. What makes this song really good is that the lyrics, even if they are really simple are very easy to remember and this song is bound to be on many future non-stop releases.
Rating : 9+

22.J. Rush - Tokyo Night (Time)
A new name, and an interesting one too. A very fast song that reminds me of Fastway's style. Perhaps Time was trying to produce their own version of Fastway and they even succeeded quite well, suits this album perfectly.
Rating : 9

23.High Level - Take My Time (Time)
Time takes an another slice of the album, and even if I had my doubts about these Time tracks they succeed very well, and they are easily recognizable from the other tracks.
Rating : 9+

24.Ely Kotero - Sheik Yarbati Moves (HI-NRG Attack)
Ah the moment this track starts playing I'm taken back to my teen years, as the track features a clip from the Vengaboys' (or am I just hearing things?). Also the vocalist sounds really much like Bazooka Girl? Am I wrong here or not, who knows, but this is one of the best songs on the album. Absolutely awesome.
Rating : 10

25.Franz "Mad Cow" Tornado & The Suck-A-Bazooka Girls - Soaker (HI-NRG Attack)
Another awesome energy packed song, as as it by now seems that Franz Tornado doesn't produce a bad track. This isn't as great as the other songs he has done, but still much better than many other songs on the album.
Rating :

26.Key-A-Kiss - Watashi No Kare Wa Seikyou (Y. & Co. Euro Oil Mix)
So last but least we have the adorable Key-A-Kiss girls with an amazing song. From the moment this song kicks in till the last seconds I was competely amazed about this one. A simple song, but the vocals make the sound really hypnotic and I can't do anything else but praise the band. A perfect ending!
Rating : 10

Final Words :
Euromach as a series has been really high quality thorough it's history so far, and this album is in my opinion one of the very best eurobeat albums out there to date. An effective pack of amazing fun songs to dance to. Amazing mixing by the avex crowd and the song selection is really great. A couple of peaks up and down, and a general high level make this album over all an amazing selection that gets very close to perfection.

Final Score : 9+
