Aaaaaaanyways!

SCP released a new iTunes album! Tracklist :

-SCP Music Eurobeat Summer Fest-
http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/scp-mu ... d457019843

01. Hello Kitty (Eurobeat Vers.) / Alix
02. Disconnected (Euroext Vers.) / Hotblade
03. Disconnected (Eurobeat Vers.) / Hotblade
04. Ministry Of Power (Eurobeat Vers.) / Fastway
05. Crazy On Emotion (Eurobeat Vers.) / Ace
06. Up & Dance Up & Go (Euroext Vers.) / Lou Master
07. Up & Dance Up & Go (Eurobeat Vers.) / Lou Master
08. Every Heart Wanna Fly (Eurobeat Vers.) / Irene

Two new songs and three Extendeds! I guess Avex is f*cking with the definition of Extended. SCP only offers radios on the current SEB. Also, two new songs and Hello Kitty internationaly!

Crazy On Emotion is excellent!! I also love the way the samples of these tracks were 1:30 giving you a really good overview of the full track.

I bought the new Ace & Fastway tracks for now since I had some credit left in my UK iTunes account - the Fastway track isn't anything super-special for now, but it might grow on me.

I may purchase the Disconnected extended too, but I'm wondering how different or special it will be when for me the version on SEB is a perfect length and structure for the song.

I'm hoping this is a good sign from SCP that we may still see new tracks pop up on iTunes to plug the gap left by at least 4 months of no new SEB Eurobeat... 8)

3 songs bought instantly.

Kitty, Hello Kitty, Hello Kitty, Oh Hello Kitty! So much <3

The Ace and Fastway songs are also great, but Ali X is the real gem out of these releases!

Now I'm seriously wondering if Hello Kitty, Crazy on Emotion, and Ministry of Power are going to be on 218. SCP doesn't usually release music for the hell of it. I could be wrong here, but the feeling is strong.

That was my thought too. I don't believe they've ever released songs on itunes that haven't featured on SEB other than the special collections and artist specials. Personally, I could live without Hello Kitty but it seems everyone else as going gaga over that track...

I guess people can no longer say SEB is extended. I'm pretty angered by it because I actually purchase SEB unlike some other people. Even http://avexnet.or.jp/eurobeat/discography/ says SEB217 is all extended. I guess this a lie unless the song was extended after the SEB release or something weird.

It seems Hello Kitty jumped from 3:09 on Sanrio Friends to 3:47 on here as well.

I think this is the reason...

Frankly, it makes sense to me, though if SEB is going to be comprised of shortened tracks again, I'd prefer that they bring back the 18-track format, and without those random, non-eurobeat remixes at the end.

I'm only interested in knowing if the alternate Lou Master and Hotblade versions on this cd are actual extended and does anyone wanna do some trading ..and by extended I mean are they 4:30 minuts and over? 8)

Listened to the album a little bit. It seems they added a beginning to Hello Kitty instead of the very short one like on Sanrio Friends. Only changes in the Disconnected and Up & Dance, Up & Go extends are the parts in the 3 minute+ parts. I don't like the new songs that much but I do enjoy Ministry of Power a little bit more than Crazy On Emotion. With Ministry Of Power though, I think the riff in my opinion doesn't sound like a Fastway song when you compare it to songs done in the past. It doesn't sound aggressive enough. Crazy On Emotion just sounds okay. I hope those songs aren't on SEB218 though because they're very average SCP songs and nothing like they've done in the 210 era.

@#infinity: that's what 玉鬼@ENATIME thinks as well... However Hello Kitty was definitely edited down I bet. Whenever Jorge says that radio edits are on SEB though, that must mean that there was an extend beforehand though right? What is there to edit?

Someone already mentioned that SCP does songs with the edit in mind. Probly why there are no extendeds in existence. HRG Attack used to do the same at one point.

You mean at has more of a Dusty flavour, like "It's My Life"? The slowest Fastway song I can recall right now, would be "Run". Not very good either.

BTW, is that "Hello Kitty" song done with the character of the same name in mind? I think Betty Boop would be a bettert choice. :P

Yeah I think Dusty would be a better alias choice for the song. Songs like It's My Life and I Wanna Take A Chance can be comparable to Ministry Of Power I think but they're a little different.

Yes, it's a song about the character Hello Kitty.

Crazy On Emotion (Eurobeat Vers.) / Ace

Awesome style and song...it totally belongs on SEB...a real must have.

..wish they'd start writing stuff like this for female vocals...it's long overdue...

..and another great pick from this release...

Ministry Of Power (Eurobeat Vers.) / Fastway

A real gem in it's own right....should be on SEB as well.

Yes, both are over that magic 4:30 figure...

Disconnected (Euroext. Version) is 5:01 and Up & Dance, Up & Go (Euroext. Version) is 4:47.

By my incredibly crude (and unscientific) calculations, that means you should get around an extra 40 bars of music for Disconnected and an extra 32 bars of music for Up & Dance, Up & Go.

I'll leave it up to you whether you reckon it's worth buying them for that... I don't really want this thread to turn into another "why are SCP extended tracks so short" rant. Has everyone forgotten that they switched from using "Extended Version" to using "SCP Eurobeat Version" or "SEB Version" to describe their songs so that people would stop bagging on them for producing short extended versions. The tracks we hear on SEB aren't supposed to be extended in the first place, end of.

No, people can call these SEB albums extended as they feature the full-length tracks. Would it be more accurate to say "Full-length" in the description... sure, but why get picky over a word, especially when we know that avex hasn't always been the best at grasping the English language like a native speaker.

[/rant over - sorry I just had my own one after I complained about others starting one :x ]

I'm surprised drnrg hasn't picked up on it. I expected him to be the first to notice. Ministry of Power's riff is an homage to Touch Me Baby. The style of the song is a heavier Doctor Stranger style.

I believe this was more a gift from SCP to the fans by offering extended versions of those songs to fans. Its already known that SCP is focused more on the overall experience of the song than its length. The Disconnected extended reminds me of the style of extendeds SAIFAM releases (who in my opinion makes the best extended mixes). The Sanrio release was probably cut to make it more appealing to the general public over an extended version which is more for DJs and hardcore fans.
