I made a few Eurobeat tracks!
I'm still new to this genre and gettting the ropes, with the limited amount of information available on the internet, and here's what I came up with!
In order from best to worst (in my own opinion):
1) https://turbochaser.bandcamp.com/track/flash-race
2) https://turbochaser.bandcamp.com/track/ ... e-original
3) https://turbochaser.bandcamp.com/track/ ... l-eurobeat
P.S: feel free to criticize, I'm looking to improve! (Just make it constructive ok)

Re: I made a few Eurobeat tracks!
Hello Eight-Six! First of all, welcome to the Eurobeat Prime forums/community.
I just listened to your tracks. They're good for being first attempts at eurobeat and, as you say, with as little specific information for this genre. All the sounds in your songs (bass, drums, synths,...) sound purely eurobeatish. Moreover, I think you made nice intros and breaks, adding elements to build up the song to the synth riff. Kudos! As a suggestion, you could add drums (hihat, snares etc) except the kick in that parts; or breakbeats to add more "hype". I also loved the use of car samples, especially in Flash Race.
I feel like the main problem in your songs is mixing. Some elements seem to be competing with each other, instead of helping each other stand out. For example, the lead synth doesn't really stand out most of the time. Maybe you should play a higher melody so that it does not compete with other elements in the song. In Flash Race, I loved the intro and the piano. However, I feel like the piano messes with other sounds. Maybe playing higher melodies and EQing its low end would make it fit better in the mix. Mixing is an ability that is not learned overnight; in fact, it is very hard to get it right (it is one of my hardest struggles when making music). You can only learn mixing by hard practice. I recommend you look for information on the net about compression and EQing and practice, practice, practice.
In your songs I don't really listen high hats, snares or cymbals (especially the offbeat hats are an important part of eurobeat music). In Tofu Night Run they're only evident at the end. These sounds are important to provide high end frequencies, and you really feel like they're "missing" when they're not high enough. Don't wait that much to add them. About drums, I really like how they sound in the remake you made of Running in the 90s. This track only need a more detuned eurobeat saw to be purely eurobeat.
However, this brings another topic. Don't sell remakes/remixes/covers of other songs. You do not have the legal rights to do it. I'm pro-covers/remixes; however, you should only upload them to youtube/soundcloud so people can listen for free, and be conscious that the original author may ask you to retire the song (it's THEIR song, after all). Especially in the eurobeat world, you can try ask the original artist of the song if you can remake it and upload it to listen for free. But never sell a song that you have no legal rights on because it can give you trouble.
Finally, I feel like the songs lack eurobeat's typical structure: synth riff - verse - bridge - chorus - synth riff. Your songs work adding on elements layer by layer, which works fine for an intro or other genres, but maybe not for a whole eurobeat song. Every part of the song may be completely constructed, and no elements should be lacking. Every segment of the song structure may sound complete and different when you listen to it.
I hope the criticism was constructive enough. I pointed out at what was improvable - mixing and song structure. However, I wanna finish by reminding what's good: purely eurobeatish sounds, intro/break construction and car samples. I really think it is a nice start to eurobeat productions and hope to listen more from you soon.

Re: I made a few Eurobeat tracks!
There are legal ways to do it, loudr.fm for example. However you will have to pay in advance so be sure you already have a fan base who will buy the songs or start a crowdfunding campaign first to find out if enough people will buy it.Akira wrote: 01 Jul 2017, 12:05 However, this brings another topic. Re: I made a few Eurobeat tracks!
Thanks Akira! The problem I have with mixing is not owning any studio headphones or speakers, so I use a gaming headset which may be why you can't hear alot of sounds in the song. Everything you said has been duly noted and I should get back to making songs again soon, I do have other accounts with different styles of music too if you're interested. Here are the links.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and sorry for the late reply to you, been really busy
P.S: I also made all my covers free now

Here's some non-constructive feedback too:

Here's my reply:
I like that "fucking annoying Eurobeat font" and so I will use it. "nice try" completely contradicts the 1 star you gave me. Not to mention I can't go get an internship at 15 whilst in school, good job. What does Swedish pop have to do with this?? Surely I should try Italo-Disco.
I could expose who on the forums it is but I won't.

Re: I made a few Eurobeat tracks!
Didn't know that side. Would love to legally cover some tracks if I had the support to do it! Thank youAnthony McBazooka wrote: 03 Jul 2017, 09:24 There are legal ways to do it, loudr.fm for example. "the internet isn't the place to constructively learn anything." Except. it is. Akira actually took the time to listen, and has actually really helped me with my music. You can read it, It was constructive.
Also Bandcamp isn't some place you need a level of quality for, It's a free online store for your music that doesn't require anyone to even buy it. However it's better for me that the option is there if people do want to buy it.
"If you put your music on the internet packaged against professional songs, people will judge the quality (or lack thereof) of your tracks."
Yeah, it's completely fine for people to say it's bad. But when you use swears and word it in a way that's completely rude and unnecessary then it's no help. it would be better if they actually said why it's bad. (Still can't get that internship currently, I didn't mean I could never get it, but not right now)
Also why do I have to use a different font, what's people problem with a font I want to use. I'll use comic sans from now on to please you, rainbow comic sans haha.
Thanks for no help at all. - Your secret admirer
P.S glad you like them Akira!

Re: I made a few Eurobeat tracks!
Also Akira, I just remembered, in Flash Race I used the official Intial D AE86 4-AGE Engine sound. Completely forgot about that!

Here's the final version of that stuttering song, I'm really proud of it and tried to use more high ends like you suggested, and tried to follow a more standard Eurobeat song layout. I also changed my font for the triggered people haha.
Hope you enjoy as it's my favorite song of mine to date.
Also here's a link to a playlist with all initial d engine sounds:

Re: I made a few Eurobeat tracks!
And that's exactly the thing you should do from the beginning if you are serious about making music. Don't compare with amateurs, compare directly with the pros. It can be very frustrating from time to time but be patient and you will reach a much higher level of quality than people who only compare their stuff to other amateurs and constantly celebrate themselves for not sucking as much as some others while only remaining at that level.Eight-Six wrote: 14 Jul 2017, 08:57 "If you put your music on the internet packaged against professional songs, people will judge the quality (or lack thereof) of your tracks."

Found a few tracks I made a while back so they'll be of a lower quality than my latest ones but I put them up anyway.

They even made a fake "joke" account by the looks of it.

I don't understand where this idea came from but tbh I've had more luck with Akira than anyone else. And I have other ways of contacting them. seeya.

*also not sure if I pointed out all my work is done in a few hours or 1 day at most* *due to the fact I only have demo FL Studio so if I close the program I can't reopen the project file.* *I also am forced to turn off my computer*
P.S: Experimental cake's Eurobeat test is way better than mine. I like it.

Thanks forum for a great time. I hope you do well in life, you know. After assuming I'm liking my own music with alt-accounts. Even though if I like it then I wouldn't need to like it. Not to mention the trouble of doing such a thing. I have one soundcloud account. And three bandcamp for different genres. Got it?
Re: I made a few Eurobeat tracks!
all i can say : your tracks are all very promising, but your mixing is ........still quite unbalanced
hope you can improve! you have potential!
